HC grants man divorce for wife’s false complaint filing

The Delhi High Court on Thursday granted divorce to a man who sought dissolution of marriage on the ground that his wife had filed several 'false' complaints against him and his family members, saying her action amounts to mental cruelty on her husband.

'We have no hesitation in holding that by filing numerous false complaints against Sandeep (name changed) and his family members with the police... she has caused mental cruelty to the husband, thereby entitling him to a decree of divorce under the Hindu Marriage Act,' the bench said.
