The Dargah organised a special prayer ceremony for the victims of Peshawar attack. Muslims as well as Hindus gathered in large numbers at the Dargah to offer prayers for the souls of the victims. “I didn’t feel like going to school today. I was very disturbed after listening about the gruesome attack in Pakistan. On Tuesday evening, I asked my mom to take me to the Dargah,” said Mohmmad Usman, 13-year-old student of DPS in Lajpat Nagar.
The cleric at Dargah in a choked voice said, “Humanity is dead. What was the fault of those children. The killers won’t be forgiven.”
A 26-year-old girl sitting in one corner of the shrine, wept holding a candle and flowers. “I don’t have any children. But the images of dead bodies, blood stains on the kids’ uniforms and books has shaken my maternal instinct. They have killed an entire generation. How can they do this”, she asked while weeping.
Meanwhile, Swami Agnivesh along with around 20 followers were detained by the police during the peace march at India Gate against Peshawar attack.
“They were detained as the protest couldn’t be allowed in the high-security area, especially when there are several threat inputs”, said Vijay Singh, deputy commissioner of police (New Delhi). The detainees were released by 9 pm.
