Bihar unit of Congress on Wednesday said there was no directive from the high command to refrain from agitating against the NDA government headed by Nitish Kumar.
'We have received no directive from the high command not to agitate against the NDA government and its policies so as to keep the door ajar for the JD[U] to support the government with its 20 MPs in Lok Sabha if the TMC brings a no-confidence motion against the central government,' the state unit Congress spokesman H K Verma said.
'In fact, Congress President Sonia Gandhi had given a free hand to the state unit leadership couple of months ago to chart out whatever political or agitation programmes to woo the masses and expand the party's support base in Bihar,' he said, trashing media reports to the contrary.
