Haryana to bring new land law

The Haryana government will soon bring a new Land Acquisition Act and acquire land as per it, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Friday.

The proposed Act will be significant given the fact that several districts (13) in Haryana are adjoining the national Capital Delhi or are part of the National Capital Region (NCR). Khattar said except for a few cases, the consent of farmers will be taken before acquiring their land.

“Barring defence projects, affordable housing, infrastructure, industrial corridor, railways, etc, no land would be acquired without the farmer’s consent,” he said. The CM claimed that a number of development projects have been launched in Haryana in the last six months. He said no-tolerance to corruption was showing results. He said the government will form a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) with the Indian Railways to strengthen rail network in the state.

Haryana’s new Industrial Policy will be announced within the next 15 days which would spur growth in all districts, he said.
