Haryana cop among four booked for suicide abetment

A Haryana police officer and the wife, father-in-law and sister-in-law of a man were on Tuesday booked for abetment to suicide after the man blamed them for his death, police said. Naresh Kumar, 30, hanged himself on Tuesday in his house at Bajghera village near Palam Vihar.
The victim left a seven-page suicide note, in which he blamed his wife Rekha, father-in-law Suresh Chand and sister-in-law Renu. The fourth name in the note was that of assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Rajkumar.
Naresh Kumar was posted at the state crime cell of Haryana police in Jhajjar. He married Rekha six years ago. The couple had a son and their divorce case was pending in court. Deputy commissioner of police (west) Surender Pal Singh said that three family members were booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. The ASI was booked later.
