Haryana CM launches scheme to train SSB aspirants

Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday approved an incentive scheme for providing training to prospective candidates to appear before Service Selection Board (SSB) for selection as 'Commissioned Officers' in Armed forces.

An official spokesperson said 174 vacancies for NCC (C) certificate-holders are available every year for commissioning into the Armed forces as officers. These included, in the Army wing, 100 vacancies at Officer Training Academy (OTA), Chennai; 50 at Indian Military Academy, Dehradun; eight for women at OTA, Chennai. Four vacancies are available in the Indian Air Force (IAF) and 12 in Navy, he said. He said under the 'Haryana Rashtra Prahari Protsahan Yojna', two SSB coaching hubs – in Delhi and Chandigarh – would facilitate the training of the cadets.
