Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam inks MoU with BEE

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) as a net-zero energy building pilot project in the presence of Jyoti Arora, joint secretary, ministry of power, and Devender Singh, chairman and managing director, Haryana Power Distribution Corporations. The MoU has been signed for the planned building of the Nigam to be constructed at Sector-14, Panchkula.

Director  projects, UHBVN, AK Grover and energy economist, BEE, Sanjay Seth signed the MOU and exchanged the papers. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) ‘Partnership to Advance Clean Energy Development Technical Assistance Programme in collaboration with the BEE  has offered technical assistance to the UHBVN to achieve net-zero energy status for the Nigam’s corporate office. Speaking on the occasion, Jyoti Arora said, ‘This will be the first net-zero energy building of Haryana. The ministry of power has already approved net zero regulations for implementation in India.

CMD, Devender Singh said that the estimated power consumption in the proposed office building will be only 250 KW due to its energy efficient architecture.
