A close aide of Patel quota agitation leader, Hardik Patel, has been accused of duping a cotton trader and a ginning mill owner from Gujarat to the tune of over Rs 1 crore, police said on Wednesday.
According to the police, the accused, Dinesh Patel, also known as Dinesh Bambhania, had not paid over Rs 1 crore to two mill owners. “One Khoda Patel, a trader of cotton bales from <g data-gr-id="10">Dhasa</g> town of Bhavnagar district, filed a police complaint, alleging that Dinesh Bambhania alias Dinesh Patel cheated him by not paying about Rs 57 lakh for cotton bales which he had sold to him in 2012,” said Sub-Inspector CG Joshi of Virpur police station. Khoda had allegedly given 500 cotton bales to Dinesh and was supposed to receive Rs 1.20 crore from him in return.
