Har-ki-Pauri will dry up for 1 month for canal cleaning

Hari-ki-Pauri in <g data-gr-id="11">holy</g> city of Haridwar will be partially dried up for a month (October 21-November 21) due to the cleaning of the Ganga canal. Normally, the exercise takes two weeks, but due to the <g data-gr-id="16">Ardh</g> <g data-gr-id="17">Kumb</g> <g data-gr-id="18">mela</g> round the corner, the authorities concerned feel the need for extensive cleaning of the river and ghats.
As the <g data-gr-id="19">Ardh</g> <g data-gr-id="20">Kumb</g> <g data-gr-id="21">mela</g> will be celebrated in January 2016, the state government is putting in its best efforts to make the event a success.
“Preparations for <g data-gr-id="13">fair</g> are going on in war-footing mode and Chief Minister Harish Rawat regularly takes updates on the progress made on <g data-gr-id="14">phone</g> or personally visits the site,” said a senior government officer.
