Handbook on sexual harassment of women at workplace released

Minister of Women and Child Development Maneka Sanjay Gandhi stressed that the government is committed to promote gender equality at workplaces, while releasing the ‘Handbook on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, on Monday. 

She said, “The government is committed to promote gender equality at workplaces throughout India as gender equality and empowerment of women are key to social and economic development of the country. It is the responsibility of employers to ensure the safety of women staff. I am pleased to release this Handbook on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal), Act 2013.”

She said the handbook provides information about provisions of the Act in an easy-to-use and practical manner. Also present at the release were  Secretary, WCD,  V Somasundaran; Additional Secretary, WCD, Nutan Guha Biswas and other senior officials of the Ministry.
