Gurgaon village to boycott polls

Residents of Kasan, the Haryana village where a girl attempted self-immolation last month to protest against college’s ‘intentional’ poor marking died on Sunday, have decided to boycott 15 October assembly polls. Pinky Chauhan was among the over 1,000 students protesting against the management of the Government Post-Graduate College for Women near Sector 14.

‘A panchayat was held in the village after her cremation and it was decided to boycott the assembly elections,’ Gopal Singh, husband of sarpanch Vimla Devi said. The village comes under Pataudi (R) constituency.
