Gurgaon SHO sent to judicial custody

The station house officer (SHO) of Gurgaon sector 29 police station, who was arrested for taking bribe from a parking contractor for allowing him to park towed vehicles on the police station premises, was sent to 14-days judicial custody by a city court, on Wednesday.
The accused, Sandeep Kumar was arrested on Tuesday by the state Vigilance Bureau after he was caught red-handed in a police raid.
According to police, it was the parking contractor, Rakesh, who had complained against the SHO and informed the police that he was going to pay Rs 20,000 as bribe on a certain time of the day. Police officials planned a raid accordingly.
Rakesh further told the police that the SHO had been demanding a lump sum amount of Rs 1 lakh from him for the past one year but had finally settled for Rs 20,000.
