Gurgaon RO orders proper video recording of rallies

All public meetings and rallies of political parties in the run up to the Lok Sabha elections in the Gurgaon parliamentary constituency will be video recorded, returning officer Shekhar Vidyarthi said on Saturday.
He said orders in this regard has been sent to all Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) in the constituency.
He directed all the AROs to ensure that the visit of star campaigners of all political parties in their jurisdiction is covered and proper video recording is done so that these can be made available to the Election Commission of India as and when required.
At the same time, he said, the AROs must personally check the video recording to ensure that the Model Code of Conduct has not been violated in any respect.
In case any violation is found, a detailed report should be sent at once so that necessary action could be taken in the matter accordingly, Vidyarthi added.
