Gurgaon rapist on the run, police declare huge reward

The Gurgaon police has failed to nab the rapist of a five-year-old who was found near a Metro station even after 24 hours.

The girl was reportedly kidnapped and raped on Saturday by unidentified person. She was later thrown near the Dronacharya Metro station from where she was found in a semi-conscious condition. A reward of Rs 50,000 by the police against the accused.DCP (east) Maheshwer Dayal said the girl and her brother had on Saturday gone to Sikanderpur, where some unknown person abducted and raped her.

The girl’s family approached the police. The police found the victim in a semi-conscious state near Dronacharya Metro station in the night.
The victim was taken to a Gurgaon hospital where doctors referred her to Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital.

‘The patient is stable and out of danger. She was operated late night,’ medical superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital, Dr B D Athani, said.

Meanwhile, the station house officer of DLF police station said an FIR has been lodged and cops are looking for leads.Though several media houses are calling the brutal incident as ‘gang rape’, in which the internal organs of the five-year-old has been brutally damaged, Maheshwar Dayal, joint commissioner of police (Gurgaon) said, ‘Media houses are exaggerating the incident and I don’t have any reason to term the incident as gang rape.’

‘We have prepared a sketch of the rapist according to the description given by a child who was standing near her when she was allegedly abducted by a person.
