Four youths were allegedly assaulted by the staff of a pub here and denied entry after they found them to be residents of another city, the police said on Sunday. The incident occurred on Saturday night when Dharmendra (23) and his friends, all residents of Rohtak, had gone to a pub in a mall at the MG Road here and were manhandled by two bouncers and the manager, they said.
The manager, standing at the reception, refused to allow the youths in, after seeing their identity cards. According to the identity cars, the youths were the residents of Rohtak. This lead to a heated argument between the pub staff and the youths, police said.
The victims alleged the manager abused them when they wanted to know the reason for denying them entry. They were then allegedly bashed up by the bouncers and managers. Dharmendra, who managed to escape, complained the police, following which they reached the spot and found the bouncers beating his friends.
The incident has been captured by the CCTV cameras installed outside the pub, they said. An FIR has been registered under Section 323 of the IPC and the pub manager has been detained, police said, adding he will be arrested if found guilty in investigation.
