A patient was receiving treatment at GTB Hospital since last six months. But the hospital administration has been denying him dialysis since 1 September.
Roop Chandra, who hails from Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, has been prescribed dialysis twice a week by doctor. But, due to non-functioning of most of the dialysis equipment in the hospital, he has not been receiving full treatment.
‘He was then referred to Rajiv Gandhi Hospital in Tahir Pur but in vain,’ said, Ashok Agarwal, member, EWS treatment monitoring committee.
Roop Chandra is too poor to afford dialysis in a private hospital and being an outstation patient, he is not even eligible for the Delhi government’s Arogya Nidhi scheme.
