Greater Noida all set to become major BPO hub

Following the trend set by Gurgaon, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) is thinking over a proposal to make the high-tech city a BPO hub. To give shape to the plan, GNIDA has launched an open-ended scheme for the allotment of the industrial plots of 500 and 1,000 square metres.

Industrialists, who are willing to buy plots to set up call centres, are required to fill up an application form and submit it to select banks, along with a registration fee of Rs 1,100. The forms are available at Bank of Baroda branch at Gamma II, HDFC Bank at Alpha commercial belt and Indian Bank at Jagat Farms at Gamma I.

The application forms can also be downloaded from the authority’s website. In this case, an applicant will need to submit a demand draft of Rs 1,100 in favour of the authority along with the application form. All forms will be scrutinised by GNIDA and the board will give its final approval for the allotment.

Greater Noida has far been known for the abundance of colleges and IT companies but with this step, it will also give space to Indian industrialists who want to set up their own BPOs.
