Grapplers fall in final hurdle, win 4 silver medals

Indian wrestlers Bajrang, Lalita, Sakshi Malik and Satywart Kadian had to settle for silver after they went down fighting in finals in the 2014 CWG at the SECC Hall on Wednesday. Bajrang went down to Canada’s David Tremblay who took just 84 seconds to beat the Indian 12-1 inside the first period.
The Canadian was declared winner on account of technical superiority. The bronze went to Nigeria’s Amas Daniel and Scotland’s Viorel Etko. It was the second silver for India during the day after Lalita finished second in women’s freestyle 53 kg. Sakshi also had to settle for the silver medal after she lost her women’s freestyle 58 kg final to Nigeria’s Aminat Adeniyi. Satywart Kadian too got silver.
