Gr Noida gets new smartphone manufacturing unit

Strengthening “Digital India” initiative, Greater Noida Authority in association with a mobile manufacturing company on Tuesday announced the launch of its manufacturing unit in Greater Noida. The unit has been set up to cater to the manufacturing and assembling of smartphones, creating more jobs and decreasing dependence on imports. 

As per the information provided by the authority, the one, vivo Mobile India, announced the start of the manufacturing of smartphones as it had laid the foundation stone about one year back. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of both Noida and Greater Noida Authority, Rama Raman, said: “We are glad that Vivo has started its first manufacturing unit in Greater Noida with the vision of creating more jobs and opportunities for Indians, hence supporting the “Make in India” program. We hope the advent of this new journey will lead to newer prospects.” 

The inauguration witnessed Alex Feng, CEO, vivo Mobile India, Le Yucheng, Chinese Ambassador to India along with Rama Raman perform the ribbon cutting followed by a tour of the manufacturing unit.
