Govt’s Pahal scheme makes it to Guinness

The government’s ambitious <g data-gr-id="12">Pahal</g> scheme has been acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records for being the largest cash transfer program (households). Government of India launched the `<g data-gr-id="13">PAHAL</g>’ Scheme in 54 districts of the country on November 15, <g data-gr-id="17">2014</g> and in remaining districts of the country on 1st <g data-gr-id="16">January,</g> 2015. As on date, 13.9 crore LPG consumers have joined the <g data-gr-id="14">PAHAL</g> scheme. LPG consumers who join the <g data-gr-id="15">PAHAL</g> scheme will get the LPG cylinders at market price and receive LPG subsidy (as per their entitlement) directly into their bank accounts. This scheme has enabled substantive savings in subsidy.
