Government at the Centre to observe a 100-day long campaign on ‘Good Governance’ December 25, birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu informed the media that ministers and members of the Parliament would be travelling across the country to highlight key initiatives of the Government that has been taken in the last two and a half years.
He also mentioned,“The endeavour of the Government is to improve delivery systems, need to promote digital transformation and take forward the connectivity revolution in all sectors.” “We call the birth anniversary of Atalji as Good Governance Day to pay tribute to his good governance and people know his governance as well connected in every sector as well,” Naidu added further.
All NDA ministers have been given a task of spreading awareness about digital payments in wake of demonetisation. However, on the contrary the Mizoram Kohhran Hruaitute Committee (MKHC), a conglomerate of leaders of 14 major churches in Mizoram, appealed to the state government not to observe ‘Good Governance Day’ on Christmas. The day is one of the most important religious days of Christians, according to a statement issued by the committee.
