The Centre will “very seriously” deal with the issue of the Islamic State’s (IS) propaganda video, in which the terror group’s cadres vowed to launch strikes in India, Union Minister Kiren Rijiu said on Friday.
“By and large, the Indian society is not subscribed to such violent ideology,” Rijiju said, while responding to a query on the video, in which some youths were seen calling for “avenging the deaths of Muslims” in the country.
“Even Muslim leadership has strongly condemned ISIS move to lure Indian Muslim youths,” he said, adding that only a very small section of the community is carried away by such moves. The video, mostly in Arabic, says ‘Jihadis' from ‘Hind’ wal ‘Sindh’ (India and Pakistan) “will soon take revenge” for the demolition of Babri Mosque and “atrocities on Muslims in Kashmir and during Muzaffarnagar riots”.
