‘Govt to continue work in 40 unauthorised colonies’

Delhi urban minister Arvinder Singh Lovely tabled an order on Monday that is likely to facilitate development work in 40 unauthorised colonies affected by Forest and ASI regulations.
‘The order will benefit thousands of residents living in these colonies,’ said Lovely. The order signed by joint secretary, unauthorised colonies K S Meena stated that the colonies mentioned in the enclosed list are eligible for development work.
An order for commencing development work in 91 unauthorised colonies was issued on 17 January 2013. The government has covered the 1,026 unauthorised colonies as against 1,218 colonies, who were issued Provisional Registration Certificate in the year 2008.
