About three months after Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung sought clarification from the Delhi government on its proposal to create dedicated bus lanes, PWD Minister Satyendar Jain on Tuesday said the AAP dispensation will send its plan back to the LG for his nod.
As per AAP government’s plan, dedicated bus lanes will be created on major roads across the national Capital. The proposal also advocates slapping of Rs 2,000 fine on those
obstructing the plying of buses on such lanes. “Government will again send the proposal to the LG for his approval in next two-three days,” Jain said.
In March this year, the city government had alleged that Jung turned down its proposal to create dedicated bus lanes in the city’s streets and imposition of Rs 2,000 against the violators of the rules.
However, the LG’s office had denied the charge and claimed that Jung had just sought clarification from the government on it, saying that he had sent back the file and asked the government for PWD’s view on it.
The LG and the AAP government have been at loggerheads on a range of issues including transfer and postings of bureaucrats and formation of Commission of Inquiry.
