The Centre has asked offices under it to ensure effective and timely resolution of public grievances as part of efforts to ensure improved work culture in government offices, the Rajya Sabha was informed on Thursday.
‘Instructions have been issued to all the ministries or departments stressing the need to ensure improved work culture and work environment in government offices suggesting various course of action. This include among others effective and timely resolution of public grievances, identification and repeal of rules or processes and archaic acts and to encourage use of information and communication technology in submission of information,’ Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh said.
The second Administrative Reforms Commission had made certain recommendations regarding re-defining the collectors’ role, as many schemes or programmes are being executed through the collectors.
