Govt expects printing market to reach $21 billion by 2015

Minister of State for Commerce and Industry EMS Natchiappan made the announcement at the inauguration of the 9th international exhibition on Printing and Allied Machinery industry (PAMEX 2013) on Thursday.

Addressing the media, Natchiappan said: ‘India is poised to be the number one in the world for printing by 2015. The scenario is changing in the Indian Printing Industry, wherein world is showing a decline in the growth. The country’s printing market, currently valued at $12.1 billion, is projected to reach $20.9 billion by 2015’.

This year, the four-day PAMEX exhibition starting on 14 November is hosting 263 exhibitors from 22 countries across the world.  All India Federation of Master Printers President AMS G Ashokan said that the country’s printing market is showing a phenomenal growth.

‘The substrates market is pegged at $4000 million and has a phenomenal growth projection of 72 per cent and the market would thus be close to $7000 million,’ he said.

PAMEX 2013 chairman S R Sharma said that it is very important event as it gives exhibitors an exposure to explore the recent development in global printing market.

‘With the support of over 2, 50,000 members from all over India, PAMEX 2013 shall attract quality footfalls from India and neighbouring countries with over 300 focused exhibitors including ancillary suppliers spread over 15,000 sq. meters and over 40,000 visitors gracing the occasion.’
