Govt acting to improve sex ratio

Union Minister Maneka Gandhi said, “As per the Census 2011, the Child Sex Ratio (0-6 years) among Scheduled tribes has declined to 957 females per 1000 males compared with 972 females per 1000 males.” She said the issue was being taken up and to address it in age group of 0-6 years, Beti Bachao, Beti <g data-gr-id="10">Padhao</g> (BBBP) programme has been launched by Ministry of Women and Child Development. “The scheme is intended to improve the child sex ratio across the country with the focused intervention and multi-sectoral action,” she added.
