Gotten drunk? Get off the metro!

From now on, people under the influence of alcohol will not be allowed to board the metro rail. On Saturday, during the 45th central Industrial Security Force (CISF), senior officials made it clear that people who are ‘high’ and out of their senses would not be allowed to step inside the metro station. Drunk passengers, identified during security checks, will be sent back.  Arvind Ranjan, CISF chief, said, ‘We will not allow drunk passengers as they are a threat to others. There is a high possibility that such a person will create havoc. So for the security of other passengers we would not not allow him to board the metro.’ He added ministry of urban development and Delhi police are aware about the CISF policy of rejecting drunk passengers. To learn about passenger profiling, a special training has been given to CISF officials. ‘If a passenger is inebriated but is accompanied by a person who is known to him, he will be allowed to board the metro. But if he is alone and is totally out if his senses, he will be stopped,’ Rajan said.
