Goel gets BJP support on full statehood for Delhi

Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel got his long-standing demand of 'full statehood for Delhi' included in the Goa resolution of the party. Goel strongly presented the case before the national executive and blamed the Congress government for having done nothing to get full statehood for Delhi in the past 14 years.

Full statehood to Delhi would bring greater accountability, more resources and less confusion over administrative issues. Unfortunately, the Congress government in Delhi has deliberately ignored this basic need of the city,” said Goel in the meeting of the national executive.
He also blamed the government of being engaged in corruption and having put the issue in the dustbin.

Goel claimed to have added 20,000 youths to the party cadre since taking over the reigns of the party in Delhi and distributed over 20,000 admission information booklets for aspirants to Delhi University in the ongoing admission session.

He claimed to have connected the party with all sections of society and being in a 'winning position' in the upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections scheduled by the end of the year.
The political resolution for full statehood of Delhi was moved by former BJP national president Nitin Gadkari and seconded by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
