Goa casinos net Rs 102 crore in 20 months

Panaji: Goa’s casinos have netted a whopping Rs.102 crore in revenue collections in the last 20 months, chief minister Manohar Parrikar told the state legislative assembly on Thursday.
Parrikar in his written reply said that the five offshore casinos floating in the Mandovi river off Panaji netted Rs.61.44 crore, while 19 onshore ones located in five-star hotels gave the state’s coffers revenue to the tune of Rs.41 crore.
Casino Royale, one of the biggest floating casinos earned a revenue of Rs.33 crore to the state government from April 2011 to December 2012, making it one of the most popular offshore casinos.
