Girls on top again for CBSE class XII

Once again girls outshone boys in the CBSE Class XII results announced on Monday, which recorded a pass percentage 82.10 per cent, an improvement from last year's 80.19 per cent.
Paras Sharma, a commerce student of Lancers Convent Senior Secondary School, Delhi, topped at the state as well as the national level, by scoring 100 per cent in four subjects, Economics, Maths, Business Studies and Accounts, and securing 95 per cent in English. Sharma secured 99 percent, topping both at the state, as well as at the national level.
Nikhil Chaturvedi, a Science student of St Columbas School, Ashok Place, Delhi, secured second position among the Delhi toppers by securing 98.8 per cent aggregate. In Maths, Chemistry and Computer Science, he scored 99 per cent, while he got 100 per cent in Physics and 97 per cent in English.
Rene Sharmaya Verma, by securing 98 per cent aggregate marks is in third place in Delhi. Sharmaya is a humanities students from Kumar Mangal School, Greater Kailash Delhi. In Political Science and Economics, Verma got 99 per cent marks, in Psychology, she secured 100 marks, in English she got 95 and in History 97 per cent.

At the national level, Sopan Khosla, a Science student from DPS Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh stood second with 99 per cent, followed by Humanities student Pratush Kumar Singh of KV Tenga Valley School with 98 per cent.
The pass percentage for girls is 87.98 per cent, as compared to 77.78 per cent in case of boys.
According to a CBSE statement, the pass percentage in Chennai region is the highest, 91.83 per cent. Delhi remained at number two spot, with a pass percentile of 86.78 per cent this year. Last year Delhi secured 85.40 per cent pass percentage.
In total, 9,44,721 candidates had been registered for the CBSE Class XII examination this year, which is the highest, an increase of about 15.81 per cent candidates over that of the past two years. The CBSE Class X results are also expected to be declared this week.
