Girl alleges gang-rape on New Year’s Eve

In a sensational incident, a 26-year-old girl has alleged that she was gang-raped allegedly by three men on December 31 in East Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar. The cops have registered an FIR and are investigating the case.

The girl has alleged that the son of the landlord where she was staying developed friendship with her. The two then started exchanging messages after they exchanged mobile numbers. The girl alleges that the boy took her to different parts in the city like Connaught Place and several others. She alleged that the accused had also promised to marry her.

The girl is a resident of West Bengal and works in a private company in Delhi. She stays in East Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar in a rented accommodation since 2015. However, on New Year’s Eve, the unsuspecting girl was taken to a place in New Ashok Nagar by the accused. 

The girl alleges that the accused was joined by his two friends later and the three gang-raped her. The girl, who could not speak up earlier, now mustered courage to lodge a formal complaint with the police. The police had registered a case and are now investigating. Sources in the police said that the girl has identified one accused but could not identify the other two. The police are now investigating the case.
