A 20-year-old woman was allegedly gang raped by four men in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday in Ghaziabad. Police has arrested the main accused while the others are absconding.
According to police, the woman was employed as a domestic help in Sector 4 of Vasundhara approximately a fortnight back.
On Thursday evening, owing to a dispute, she left her employer’s home for the placement agency in Delhi that had helped her find the job without informing her employer.
She took an auto for Delhi but when the auto-driver asked for the address, she just handed over the visiting card of the agency. The driver called the number and the manager of the placement agency asked him to drop the girl at Vaishali metro station as the driver did not have the license to enter Delhi.
But the auto-driver took her to a secluded place and raped her, along with his three friends.
The girl was dropped back at her employer's residence in Vasundhara at approximately 3 am on Friday. She then narrated the story to her employer who approached the police in the morning.
A case has been registered under section 376 in Indirapuram police station and police is investigating the matter.
'The medical report did not confirm rape but we have sent the samples for forensic examination,' said Rajesh Dwivedi, inspector, Indirapuram police station. The police have arrested the auto-driver Rakesh (25), but he has denied the charge.
