Ghaziabad awaits Akhilesh’s call

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will lay the foundation stones of various infrastructural projects worth over Rs 3,000 crore in Ghaziabad on Monday. He will also dedicate recently completed projects worth over Rs 750 crore to the public. The Chief Minister is visiting the National Capital Region town to distribute laptops to students, a pre-poll promise of  the Samajwadi Party.

Major infrastructure projects include an 18 km long elevated road between UP Gate and Northern Peripheral Road, through Indirapuram and Vasundhara, that cost approximately Rs 800 crore and the 21 Km long, six lane Northern Peripheral Expressway connecting National Highway (NH) – 24 to NH-58 which cost approximately Rs 700 crore. Other projects include a bridge on the Hindon river between Sidharth Vihar and Indirapuram, development of lakes at Hasanpur and Arthala, multi-level parking near Vaishali Metro station and Ghaziabad Collectorate, two bridges on the Hindon at GT Road, a railway bridge on the Hindon river and four road over bridges. These projects have been planned and would be executed by the Ghaziabad Development Authority.

'The Chief Minister will also dedicate projects recently completed projects worth Rs 750 crore to the public,' said Santosh Kumar Yadav, vice chairman of  the GDA. These projects include- three sewage treatment plants, one each at Indirapuram, Ghaziabad city, and Govindpuram, a six-lane road between NH-24 and New Holland Factory, and a  bridge on GT road. Besides these infrastructure projects the Chief Minister will also unveil over 5,000 EWS flats, 560 LIG, 216 MIG, and 144 mini MIG flats for citizens. The Chief Minister will also launch a scheme of 5,000 EWS and LIG flats to be built by private builders and allotted by GDA. 

Yadav is also scheduled to distribute 8,058 laptops to the students who passed their XII exam from Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education in 2012 and now are studying in various colleges. Out of these 8,058 beneficiaries 5,558 are from Ghaziabad district and over 2,500 are from Gautam Budh Nagar district (Noida and Greater Noida).
