Ghaziabad authority bans registration of properties in unauthorised colonies

Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has banned registration of properties in private unauthorised colonies being developed after July 2013. The buyers will now have to submit a no-objection certificate (NOC) to the authority to purchase any plot or flat in any new private colony.

‘The land mafia directly purchase land from farmers or took illegal possession of government land in the flood plain of Hindon river to develop illegal colonies, which ultimately end up fleecing the hard earned money of middle class people,’ said Santosh Kumar Yadav, chairman of GDA. The authority has also issued orders to property registrars of Ghaziabad district not to ban registry of properties in such area. The decision has be taken in the light of a recent order of Allahabad High Court, to put a check on the development of illegal colonies by land mafia in flood plains of river and also on agricultural land without providing requisite public amenities.
