In a shocking incident of torture towards animals, the Gurgaon Police rescued 11 camels on Farukhnagar Road on Wednesday evening.

The incident came to light when a couple of police officers were forcefully trying to illegally carry 11 camels together in a single truck. “According to the law, not more than four camels can be carried in a truck together. Cattle need to be assisted with proper facilities, including a doctor, a caretaker, animal food and other necessities,” said Kuldeep Jhangu, a Gurgaon-based activist, who reported the issue.

When the locals witnessed this torture towards the animals during the process of transporting, they gathered in huge numbers and blocked the Farukhnagar Road, as a sign of protest. According to the information received, the Delhi Police officers were trying to put all the camels in one truck, which involved beating and torturing the camels with knifes and wooden logs. Sources also revealed that one of the camels got hurt on his neck because and was profusely bleeding. The Farukhnagar police station has registered an FIR against unknown persons under Sections 505, 506, 116, 120B, 428, 429 under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 of the IPC.
