Get your photo on postage stamp for just Rs 300

A person can get printed 12 postage stamps, bearing his/ her photograph at Rs 300 only, while a corporate entity will have to shell out Rs 12 lakh for having a stamp in the name the company.
According to Department of Post Secretary SK Sinha, India Post has set a target of Rs 60-crore revenue from My Post service, which is a hit among corporate entities and educational institutions.
The department has already issued customised ‘My Stamp’ for e-commerce platforms Amazon India and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
Besides, the department has received various proposals from various entities, including SNDT Women’s University, the first women’s university in India.
“We have opened customised printing of ‘My Stamp’ for individuals and corporate houses. Any corporate and institution can get its logo or photo printed on the stamp for Rs 12 lakh.
They will have to book minimum 5,000 sheets, comprising 60,000 postage stamps. For individuals, the cost is Rs 300 as they have to book only one sheet, having 12 postage stamps, which can be used for general postal mail,” Sinha said.
“We have proposals worth Rs 2 crore this fiscal, while total revenue from My Stamp last fiscal was of Rs 2.83 crore,” he said. Asked about if people with notorious background could get a stamp with their photograph, Sinha said, “India Post will examine all proposals and it reserves the right to reject them too.”
India Post is eyeing a jump of Rs 100 crore in turnover at Rs 141 crore from the philately segment this fiscal and expects ‘My Stamp’ initiative to contribute about Rs 60 crore.
The department expects its total revenue to be in the range of Rs 15,000-16,000 crore this fiscal against Rs 13,037.25 crore in 2015-16.
