Get ready to be diverted for Republic Day

Delhi traffic police have made elaborate arrangements around India Gate for the Republic Day parade on Saturday.

The Republic Day Parade will start on 26 January, at about 9.50 am from Vijay Chowk and head towards Red Fort Grounds. There will be a related function at India Gate at 9 am.

In order to ensure free and uninterrupted movement of the parade along the route and to regulate city traffic, the traffic police has made elaborate arrangements for Vijay Chowk – Rajpath - India Gate - Tilak Marg - Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg – Netaji Subhash Marg - Red Fort.

The area bounded by Kautilya Marg-Kamal Ataturk Marg-Aurangzeb Road-‘Q’-point-Humayun Road-Subramaniam Bharti Marg-Mathura Road-Bhagwan Dass road-Feroze Road R/A Windsor Place-Ashoka Road-Baba Kharak Singh Marg-Mother Teresa Crescent-Sardar Patel Marg upto Kautilya Marg will be restricted.

Only labelled vehicles of the invitees and vehicles of bonafide residents will be permitted to enter till the conclusion of the parade  – from 6 am to 12.30 pm approximately.

‘No vehicles will be allowed to ply on Rajpath after 6 am on 25 January, till the function ends on 26 January. No traffic will be allowed on Tilak Marg, B S Z Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg upto Red Fort after 4 am on the Republic Day,’ said a police official.

Buses from Ghaziabad bound for Shivaji Stadium will take NH-24, Ring Road.

All buses coming from Ghaziabad side will be diverted at Mohan Nagar towards Bhopra Chungi for Wazirabad Bridge. All buses coming from Dhaula Kuan side shall terminate at Dhaula Kuan. All buses coming from Badarpur shall terminate at New ISBT Sarai Kale Khan.

All buses coming from NH-24 shall take right turn on Road No. 56 and terminate at ISBT Anand Vihar.
