GDA to construct old age home in Vaishali

Ghaziabad Development Authority will build a multi-storied old age home in Vaishali area here that will be equipped with all modern facilities.

GDA Vice-Chairman Vijay Kumar Yadav said: “In so many cases, elderly couples are living alone as their children are living abroad or far away from them for their jobs, thus they feel lonely.

“Maintenance of their houses and safety is the biggest dilemma for them. It is often seen that servants rob the precious articles and money and kill senior citizens.” 

In the proposed old age home to be spread over 3000 <g data-gr-id="22">sqm</g>, round-the-clock security will be provided to the inmates and caretakers will cater to their basic needs and medical emergencies, he said.

“For this they have to pay a fixed amount which they can bear by renting out a part of their palatial houses,” he said.

Yadav further said that there will also be guest houses in the proposed new facility.

“Consultancy firms have been invited by GDA for proposing the design,” he said.
