GDA to construct 2000 flats for EWS, LIG families

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) will construct 2,000 flats for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Lower Income Groups (LIG) under Builder Project Scheme, a senior official said on Monday.
TheVice Chairman of Ghaziabad Development Authority Santosh Kumar Yadav said that 1,000 for EWS families and 1,000 flats for LIG families will be constructed by the private builders under the scheme.
As per new GDA stipulations for sanctioning maps for Builder Projects, the builder shall construct 10 per cent flats for economically weaker section in their each project. An EWS flat will cost Rs 4.5 lakh and LIG flat will cost Rs 8 lakh.
According to Yadav, a scheme for 370 four-BHK, 3 BHK and 2 BHK flats will be launched on Diwali in Indirapuram’s Nyay Khand-1.
These flats will be equipped with all modern amenities, the officer further added.
