Gaza’s Anne Frank is the new sensation in social media

She is living near to famous Al Shifa hospital in Gaza, where her father is a surgeon, provides real life updates of Israeli attacks, bomb blasts, blaring sirens of hospital ambulances via her Twitter feed. In wordings, expectations Farah reminds the way of Anne Frank, the girl killed at 15 and known as most famous victim of the Holocaust. Only difference is that, Anne used diary as the medium to share her thoughts but same role played by Twitter for Farah Baker.
Gaza teen’s social followers jumped from 800 to 1,82,000 within a few days. The clash started merely a month ago and Farah is living with parents, two younger sisters in an area which is one of the main targets of Israeli forces.
‘I am trying to tell the world about what I feel and what is happening where I live,’ Ms. Baker told to Reuters. ‘trying to make other people feel as if they are experiencing it, too’, She added.
Farah is a high school athlete and want to become a lawyer, to work for people in Gaza, using smart phone or laptop to post the tweets. Some times she records footage of shell attacks and post them via tweet. Her updates are very helpful for the outside world, to know what is really going on in Gaza.
Some people mention her as ‘war reporter’ in Palestine. The girl deserves the title too, but said that she’s surprised at the popularity she got.
