In a major move, the UP cabinet on Tuesday approved an array of security demands made by the Gautam Budh Nagar police. The district will now have five new police stations, fire stations, a cyber police station, a dedicated forensic lab and a unified control room for Noida and Greater Noida. The move comes as an achievement for the Noida police, which had sent a proposal to improve the security system in the city.
Dr. Pritinder Singh, SP, Gautam Budh Nagar said that there is a need to bring a sense of security among the people. ‘An ultra modern control room will help us improve the response time and also make the action taken effective in emergency cases. We will begin working on our projects within a week,’ said Singh.
The SSP informed that the unified control room will come up at Sector 14A, Noida and will be equipped with advanced modern equipment. A total of 345 sub-inspectors, 1,694 inspectors and 207 vehicles would be under the control room. At present, there are two control rooms in the district, located in Noida and Surajpur.
Rama Raman, chairman of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Authorities said, ‘After receiving the green signal from the cabinet, we have directed the concerned departments to implement the order. We will make sure that the proposed facilities will be available in two to three months.’
