The official Ambassador car of former AAP legislator Rajesh Garg was discovered half-sunk in a 15-feet deep swamp in a corner of the Siraspur Road in outer Delhi’s Badli area on Wednesday morning.
According to the police, there was nobody inside the vehicle when it was discovered in such a state.
The car was parked on a side of the road near the swamp and the former MLA along with his associates had gone to a nearby area to meet locals. The car somehow slipped off and fell into the swamp. A local called the police and a team rushed to the spot immediately.
What the police and the locals feared was that they thought there could be occupants who could be trapped inside the car. It had to be pulled out using a recovery truck and it was found to be locked, with no occupants inside. According to a source, people from the locality had earlier complained about the swamp but no action was ever taken by the concerned authorities.
Many a times, children from nearby localities have reportedly fallen into the swamp and later rescued.
