Gadkari draws roadmap to counter ‘internal sabotage’

Having got his preferred choice of Harsh Vardhan as BJP’s chief ministerial candidate for Delhi, the state election in-charge Nitin Gadkari is now working towards countering any internal sabotage.

<span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">Gadkari in separate meetings with present and former district presidents on Monday in the city made it clear that every party worker must work to ensure the party’s win in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections.

‘He categorically directed all the incumbent 14 district presidents to work in tandem with party workers to ensure maximum votes for BJP,’ said a senior leader present in the meeting. The meeting was summoned in the wake of the media reports that these districts presidents were handpicked by <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">city BJP president Vijay Goel
. As a result, the fear was that they may sabotage the party’s efforts to wrest power from Congress.

‘You must not mind the party’s choice and you must give your best to ensure two thirds majority in <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">the Delhi assembly’, Gadkari added.

He also called up a separate meeting of former district presidents and asked them to keep vigil on party workers and directly report to him in case of any mistakes.

‘Gadkari has virtually raised a new team of <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">old guards
without replacing the team appointed by Goel to protect the interests of the party,’ said a leader at <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">the vice-president level of city BJP.  

Gadkari who was to attend some election committee meetings to finalise the names of <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">the candidates returned back to Nagpur on Monday evening. However, he is to come back to Delhi on Tuesday to hold marathon meetings on the list of candidates.
