Suggesting what could just be the tip of an iceberg, the crime branch of Delhi Police has formed a separate team to focus their investigation on the Oil ministry and unearth a larger nexus that is suspectedly involved in corporate espionage services, the police said on Saturday.
“The team would start working from Monday and dozens of officials working for the ministry shall be questioned in this regard,” said a senior official investigating the case. He further informed that a smaller team will also be carved out of the special unit to be on the look out for the absconding multitasking official named Veer Singh.
According to the police, Veer Singh’s name came out during the interrogation of Ishwar Singh and Asharam, who were among the first five accused in the case on February 19. Veer Singh had reportedly accompanied Ishwar and Asharam in duplicating several documents in the past. During their interrogation, it also emerged that they were the part of a larger nexus operating in the ministry, yet to be unearthed, said the senior official.
