Friends might have pushed boy off 5th floor: police

The 17-year-old boy who died after falling off from the fourth floor of a building in Jamia Nagar might have been pushed to death by his friends it has emerged.

The death was reported after Mohammad Chand’s body was found on Friday. Police had said that Chand might have slipped off the fourth floor. 

On Sunday, police said: ‘Investigations have revealed that the boy might have been pushed by his friends who were angry with Chand after he complained about their drinking habits to their parents.’

‘Three boys were involved in the incident. We have arrested one of them. The other two are absconding,’ an officer said.

Not satisfied with investigations carried out thus far in the case, Chand’s parents protested outside the Jamia Nagar police station on Sunday evening. They demanded that the other two accused be arrested without further delay.

Police, however, maintained that investigation was on in full swing.
