Free DU online registration for SC/ST, handicapped

This year onwards, the online registration for admission to the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP), in Delhi University will remain free of cost for SC/ST and physically-handicapped applicants.
JM Khurana, dean of Students Welfare of Delhi University while releasing the prospectus regarding the FYUP admissions on 3 June said, ‘Students from SC/ST and physically-handicapped category who are seeking admission to DU this year have been exempted from paying the online registration fee for admission in FYUP, but the general and OBC category students will have to pay Rs 50 as online fee this year onwards .’
Khurana also added that the hard copy of Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) form along with the prospectus will be available for Rs 50 for SC/ST and physical-disabled students, but for the general and OBC categories, it will cost Rs 100 at various centres of DU.Â
This year onwards, the applicants will have to mention the family income, mobile number and  the region from which the student has done his/her schooling. They also have to mention if they studied in a government or private school in addition to the region of the school.
Earlier, there was no online registration and OMR option for the SC/ST and physically-disabled students as only ICR forms (free of cost) were available for the students. This year onwards, the general and OBC categories have got a relaxation of Rs 50 when they register online because earlier they were paying Rs 100 for both online and OMR forms.
Khurana added,‘There has been an overwhelming demand for the newly introduced Bachelor with Honours in Management Studies course. Therefore, the University has decided to introduce this course in six other DU colleges’.Â
A total of 840 seats will be available in this course for which online admission process has already started. The last date of online registration is 10 June.  The colleges to offer this course are Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, College of  Vocational Studies, Keshav Mahavidyalaya, Maharaja Agarsen College, Bhim Rao Ambedkar College and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College
