Fraudster who sold DDA flats arrested

A fraudster who was illegally selling DDA flats has been arrested by Economic Offences Wing on Friday. The accused Amit Agarwal, 41, used to recce the area and identified flats which were unoccupied and had not been visited for a long time. He then prepared forged documents of these flats to establish ownership.

'He would prepare forged documents of DDA flats and sold them to innocent buyers. Two cases are being investigated by the Economic Offences Wing and the accused was found active in the Vasant Kunj area,' said a police official.

The accused identified one such flat, Number D-3/3227, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi and prepared fake documents of this flat and applied to the DDA for conversion of this flat from leasehold to freehold on the basis of these forged and fabricated documents.

According to the police officials, the owner of the flat, Ashok Agarwal, came to know about his bad intentions and on the complaint of Ashok Agarwal a case was registered against the accused.
