Four-year-old raped in Malviya Nagar

A 20-year-old man was arrested for raping a four-year-old girl in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar area on Wednesday.
According to police, the incident took place when the victim was alone at the rented accommodation where she lives with her parents.
'The parents of the girl were away, when the accused, who has been identified as Vijay, a labourer, went inside the house and committed the crime,' the official added.
A neighbour heard the girl crying and informed her parents. When her parents came back, she narrated the incident to her parents who took her to the hospital.
The victim’s parents told police that their daughter was not in a condition that they could have informed the police and waited for them to come, before bringing her to a hospital.
The hospital staff informed the police. After the victim was given first-aid, a medical examination was conducted that confirmed rape. ‘A case under the appropriate sections were registered against the accused who was later identified and arrested on the basis of the victim’s statement and description,’ a police official said.
