Four new cases of swine flu reported in city

Four new cases of swine flu have been reported in city on Monday, according to a health official. In January this year, a total of nine cases have been reported till now.

“A 37-year-old man from Dwarka , 58-year-old man from Jor Bagh, 56-year-old man from Saket and 30-year-old woman female from New Delhi have been tested positive for swine flu. They are admitted in private hospital except the woman who is admitted in Safardjung hospital,” said Charan Singh, an officer at the Delhi health department.

Till now, one death from swine flu month has been recorded when a 51-year-old woman died due to flu on December 24, 2014 at Sir Ganga Ram hospital here.

Health experts say that swine flu can have symptoms like fever, coryza, cough, sore throat and body aches. It may last for one-two weeks.However, occasionally, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and rash may also occur.

Prevention mainly involves implementation of the respiratory hygiene, cough etiquette and hand hygiene.
